They say the most frightening thing to a writer is a blank page.
That’s happened to me too many times. But eventually I figured out that once you start typing, anything is possible. If it was writing a script, an article, or a marketing plan, the method was the same. Start with a blank paper (a.k..a. screen). Type. Print it out. Take a scissors and cut out each narrative paragraph. Paste them down on another piece of paper. In the spaces in between paragraphs, write feelings and emotions.

Of course, it’s not that simple, and demands more than just scissors and rubber cement. But that is the basic approach to writing for photo essays films, or marketing copy. I am lucky to have learned how to write a long time ago, and it has enabled me to get assignments done effectively, creatively, and most importantly, as the cliche goes, on time and under budget.
The computer, superb for writing, has also become the all-in-one machine for video, graphics, and editing. But you can still cut and paste.
